Dr. Loan Luong
President, Medical Staff
Dr. Loan Luong received her Bachelor of Science (in Biology) from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, her Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Toronto, and her Family Medicine degree from the University of Ottawa.
She has additional medical training in Neonatal Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Basic Life Support.
Dr. Luong is affiliated with the following medical associations: Ontario Medical Association and Canadian Medical Associa- tion, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, College of Family Physicians of Canada, and Society of Rural Physicians of Canada.
Dr. Luong’s academic achievements have been recognized with a long list of awards and honours dating back to her high school days when she won a Governor General Award for the highest grade-point average. A few years later her research interests led to a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Award for the study of the Polydnavirus.
Dr. Luong’s current scope of work is shared between her busy family practice at the Kemptville Medical Centre, Inpatients and Convalescent Care at KDH, and Bayfield Manor Nursing Home.
Dr. Luong has been an active Medical Staff member at KDH since 2007. She became a member of the Corporate Services Committee of the KDH Board of Directors in 2015 and an ex-officio Board Member in 2020, when she was appointed President of KDH Medical Staff. Dr. Luong acquired her Fellowship designation from the College of Family Physicians in 2021.
