Parking
On this page, find the information you need for a smooth parking experience, including parking rates and frequently asked questions. Please note that proceeds of the parking system are reinvested into patient care. Parking revenues help us maintain programs and services for our local communities.
Note: On July 8, 2024 we transitioned to a new, safer and more efficient ‘Scan to Pay’ gateless entry parking system. The cost to park is a $6 flat rate for up to 24 hours. Users pay on arrival by scanning the QR code on our parking signs or sending a text as indicated on the signs. Alternatively, there are cash payment meters in the ER entrance, Clinics entrance, and KDH Health Centre that accept coins only. You will need to enter your license plate number with either method; our parking attendant conducts hourly rounds to confirm by plate number that parking has been paid; therefore there is no need to display your parking receipt in your vehicle. There is no charge for drop-off or pick-up in designated areas and there is a 15-minute grace period so people parking anywhere in the lot for less than 15 minutes do not need to pay. For details, please see our Parking Rates and FAQs sections below.

For those who prefer to pay by cash, a cash payment meter is available in the ER entrance. Please note: the cash payment meter only accepts coins – exact change. An ATM is located nearby along with a machine that changes paper bills into coins.
Following payment by either method, there is no need to display your receipt on your dashboard.
There are Parking signs located throughout both KDH parking lots. Watch for a QR code and reminder of the $6 flat rate to park.
There is no charge for drop off or pick up.
- Patients may be dropped off at the pavement area adjacent to ourMain Entrance – watch for the sign that says, “PATIENT DROP-OFF ONLY – NO PARKING”.
- If you are picking up a patient, choose one of two spots labelled PATIENT PICK-UP ONLY – 20 MINUTES MAXIMUM. These spots are located in front of the KDH Health Centre building near the ER entrance.
- You can pay by debit/credit card, Google Pay or Apple Pay when you scan the QR code on our parking signs or send a text to the number indicated on the signs. Note: there is a $0.35 transaction fee for online payment.

With this new parking system, there is a 15-minute grace period, so if you are in and out of the parking lot in 15 minutes or less, you don’t need to pay regardless of where you park. We also have a PATIENT DROP-OFF area marked with a sign (the pavement alongside our Main Entrance) where you can simply stop and drop off a patient and then leave the parking lot. Additionally, we have two parking spots in front of the KDH Health Centre that are designated “PATIENT PICK-UP ONLY” – if you are picking up a patient, you may park your car for free for 20 minutes or less by selecting one of the two designated spots.
Once you have paid the daily rate, your license plate is entered into our system as paid; you can then come and go throughout the 24-hour period with no extra charge.
Please enter the ER where staff or our ER Volunteer Greeters will be able to help you. You may also send an email to kdh_parking@kdh.on.ca
We have moved to a gateless entry parking system to ensure seamless entry and exit for all users. The most important benefit of this new parking system is that it enables direct access for emergency vehicles to our ER. With the previous system, there were occasional malfunctions resulting in ambulances stuck at the gates, waiting to get in or out of the parking lot. Patients and families also got stuck sometimes, and it understandably caused a huge amount of frustration. With the new gateless system, that will never happen again.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for your patience as we transition to our new gateless entry parking system. We value your feedback. If you have any comments or concerns, please contact kdh_parking@kdh.on.ca

“So surgery went wonderfully and I absolutely loved every single person at the Kemptville Hospital!! Dr. Pickell was amazing and the anesthesiologist was so fun, so kind, so absolutely over the top perfect!! I have a son who has had more than 100 surgeries and I have been there until he fell asleep for most of them and we have never experienced the kind of over-the-top professionalism and kindness the way I did on Monday.”
