Kemptville District Hospital puts out call for community volunteers
Kemptville District Hospital (KDH) is looking for volunteers to join our incredible team.
Do you have an interest in contributing to high quality and safe health care for your community? Do you enjoy meeting new people and being part of a team that prioritizes person-centered care?
Volunteers have been serving at KDH since it opened in June of 1960, providing important support to visitors, patients, families, caregivers and staff. Volunteers are easily recognized by their red vests; they greet people coming into the hospital’s main entrance or Emergency Department (ED), help them find their way to where they need to be, offer a supportive presence for people, assist in the Interim Long-Term Care unit, and operate the Gift Shop and Coffee Bar.
KDH is specifically looking for volunteer greeters in the ED, along with main entrance greeters. Volunteer opportunities are also available at the Gift Shop and Coffee Bar, with funds going to the KDH Auxiliary and donated back to the hospital to purchase items in support of patient care.
If you’re interested in volunteering at the hospital, please reach out for more information by emailing kdh_volunteer@kdh.on.ca or calling 613-258-6133 ext. 125 to speak with the volunteer coordinator.
You can also connect with volunteers at the hospital’s Gift Shop and Coffee Bar, and there will be volunteers at the Beth Donovan Hospice Community Day and Resource Fair on Thursday, October 16 from 2 to 6pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre (285 County Rd. 44 in Kemptville).
