APPOINTMENTS

Specialist Appointments:

A referral from a physician or nurse-practitioner is required to see a specialist at KDH.
To cancel/reschedule a booked appointment, please contact the specialist directly; exceptions: for Drs. Fox (Physiatry), Ibrahim (Dermatology), Jamal (Chronic Pain), or LeRiche (Gynecology), please call 613.258.6133 ext. 400.

Diagnostic Imaging (x-ray, mammogram, etc.) Appointments:

A requisition from a physician or nurse-practitioner is required.
To cancel/reschedule a mammogram, call 613.258.6133 ext. 103; for all other diagnostic tests, call 613.258.6133 ext. 400.

For Physicians/Nurse Practitioners, are you looking to refer a patient to KDH for Diagnostic Imaging?

Day Surgery:

If you have questions about your appointment, please call all 613.258.6133 ext 423.
If you are ill, please call your surgeon’s office directly for guidance – it may not be safe to go ahead with your surgery.

Hip/Knee Replacement Surgery:

Here is the process to have hip/knee replacement surgery at KDH:

Your family doctor/nurse-practitioner will need to refer you to the regional central intake for total joint assessment.
When you get to that appointment you will be assessed by a physiotherapist and measured in terms of your disease advancement. If you are deemed to be a candidate for a total joint replacement, you will then be referred to an orthopaedic surgeon of your choosing, or you can ask to be referred to the first available.
You can request to have your surgery at KDH. You will need to choose one of the following surgeons who currently perform hip/knee replacements at KDH: Dr. Geoffrey Dervin (knee only); Dr. Robert Feibel (knee and hip); Dr. Wade Gofton (knee and hip); Dr. George Grammatopoulos (knee and hip); Dr. Paul Kim (knee and hip). Note: this list is subject to change.

“Dr. Hosseini treated my adult son, Matthew, in the ER when he was brought in by ambulance. Matthew had experienced an episode involving a rapid, irregular heartbeat resulting in him losing consciousness at home. Dr. Hosseini treated him with the utmost care. She had a number of tests performed which left his diagnosis a little unclear but concerning to her. She consulted with the Heart Institute and he was sent there overnight. They did further tests including scheduling an angiogram. Before they could perform the angiogram, he had another episode. They quickly sent him for the angiogram and discovered a 95% blockage of his left ventricular main artery. They then inserted a stent. We feel that Dr. Hosseini saved Matthew’s life. If she had not followed her instincts that he should be at the Heart Institute that night he might not have survived. She is to be commended for her caring professionalism. We cannot thank her enough.”
