Mrs. Alexandra Pontbriand, Chair |
Alexandra is a Chartered Accountant, and is currently the Corporate Controller at First Air airlines. Prior to this, she worked for KPMG LLP as an Audit Manager and specialized in not-for-profit organizations. Alexandra is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, where she has also taught various Accounting courses on a part-time basis. Alexandra believes in giving back to the community, and is very proud to serve on the board of the Kemptville Hospital. Alexandra Pontbriand has lived in Kemptville since 2001. Besides volunteering for the Hospital, she helps coach a U5 girls' soccer team. Alexandra plays women's soccer house league herself, and enjoys gardening and camping. Alexandra is married to David, and together they have two young daughters. |
The Board of Directors' responsibilities are to:
• Ensure that the Hospital fulfills its mission;
• Ensure that the Hospital protects its assets;
• Ensure the ethical conduct of the organization;
• Ensure a high standard of patient care by approving a process to evaluate and monitor all phases of the Hospital's quality assurance programs and accreditation status;
• Ensure the Hospital conforms to legislation and standards set by regulatory and advisory agencies; |
• Determine the Hospital's vision and mission, and approve its philosophies and values;
• Develop and update a strategic plan for the Hospital and ensure that all decisions are made in accordance with the plan; and
• Monitor and evaluate plans, programs and standards to ensure that they meet the Hospital's priorities, goals and policies, and approve appropriate resources to achieve these objectives. |

Mr. Jean-Jacques Rousseau,

Jean-Jacques Rosseau hails from Sturgeon Falls on the northern shores of Lake Nipissing, and moved from Ottawa to Kemptville with wife Barbara in 1992. They have one daughter. Mr. Rousseau graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1980 and obtained his CGA designation in 1986. He works for CBC as a senior financial analyst, and has played an active role in the community as a volunteer for St. John’s United Church. |

Mr. Sean Kelly, Treasurer |

Sean Kelly is a lawyer with the Ottawa firm of Burke-Robertson and has been with that firm since his articling year in 1992-93. He practices primarily in the areas of Wills and Estates Administration. In 2004, he was able to persuade the firm to open a satellite office in Kemptville so that he could better serve the legal needs of the local community. In addition to his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario, Sean has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa. A native of Chelsea, Québec, Sean moved to Kemptville in 1996, where he lives with his wife and two sons. Sean is a member of the Kemptville Chapter of Business Network International (BNI) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and served for several years on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Ottawa-Carleton. |

Mr. Colin Goodfellow, Chief Executive Officer |

Colin Goodfellow joined the hospital as CEO in spring 2005. He possesses organizational and change leadership experience in both public and private sectors. Recent experience includes leading a life science commercialization consultancy and leading a national campaign for the creation of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. (CIHR). He served as Vice President for strategy and operational performance at the Toronto East General Hospital.
Colin has an MBA from Queens University and is a certified management accountant. |

Dr Leahy is a family physician and has been working at KDH since 1995. He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1992. Dr Leahy and his wife Dawn have one daughter ,Arden, who is 6 years old. |

Ms. Mary Gervais, Auxiliary President |
 |
Mary Gervais is President of the Hospital Auxiliary.
Mary was born in St.John, New Brunswick but moved to Ontario at age 4 and has lived in Oakville, North Bay, Thunder Bay, Kemptville and now Ottawa. She met her husband, Ellwood, in North Bay while completing business college. They were married in 1968 in Thunder Bay, Ontario and had 3 children, Andrew, Louise and Peter. Mary’s career was mainly within the provincial government and the education system. She has held a variety of volunteer positions, locally, provincially and nationally, relating to second language learning within Ontario schools.
Healthcare is an extremely important part of Mary’s personal life after experiencing shortfalls in the health care system, related to the loss of her youngest son. She has also experienced excellence in health care with her husband’s illnesses.
Mary became involved in the Auxiliary in 1999, through a giant one-day fundraising event called Hey Day, now in its forty-ninth year. |

John Curtis, President, KDH Foundation |
 |
John Curtis, who grew up on a farm in Elgin, has been in the Kemptville area since 1966. He graduated with a BSA in Plant Science from the University of Guelph in 1959 and again in 1964 with a MSA degree in Corn production. John moved to Kemptville in 1966, as head of plant Science at KCAT, transferring to Toronto in 1970 as Director of Plant Industry Branch for OMAF. John returned to Kemptville in 1974 as Principal. In 1992, John retired and took a sales position with SECAN, a national seed genetics distribution system. In 1999 he retired for good.
John and his wife Nancy have three children, Laurie, Debbie and David. As well, they have eight grandchildren Kara, Graeme (both at Mount Allison), Kelsey, Jacob, Liam, Alex, Emma, and Mathew.
John is an elected Board member of the KDH Hospital, but has also accepted a one-year term as President, KDH Foundation, and in this capacity, serves as an ex-officio member of the Hospital Board.

Dale Kirkpatrick |

Dale has been a member of the Kemptville Hospital Board since 2000. Prior to serving on the hospital board, he spent nine years as a member of St. John’s United church board as well as six years as a Scouts Canada leader. Dale has a strong community commitment to serving others and feels that the Kemptville Hospital is the cornerstone of the North Grenville Municipality.
Dale has been a tenth grade teacher since 1999. Prior to that he was a Controller of a local company where he worked for thirteen years. He is married to Kathy and they have three children, all at University.

Mr. Dan Hart |

Daniel Hart is a design architect and construction coordinator with Intelcan an Ottawa based company specializing in Air Traffic Control and Aviation Infrastructure projects worldwide. Mr. Hart has been with Intelcan for 11 years and previous work experience includes design work with the Ottawa firms of Mohaupt & Craig and Douglas Hardie and Associates and abroad with the Japanese firm of MHS in Osaka Japan. Mr. Hart graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1989.
Mr. Hart is honored to serve on the Board of the Kemptville District Hospital, recognizing the value and importance the hospital brings to this growing community.
Dan and his wife Mary moved to the Kemptville area in 1997 and currently have three boys, Benjamin, Jeremy and Alex. |

Mr. Pete Larocque |
 |
Pete is a currently the Managing Director of CoreTracks, a management consulting firm based in Ottawa. With an MBA from Queen’s, he has over 24 years of management and leadership experience at a local, national, and international level in profit, non-profit, and public sector organizations and has extensive knowledge and business experience, from a strategic and tactical level right through to providing direction with day-to-day operations.
Pete has been very active in his community, and has served on the Boards of the Christmas Exchange, the Canadian Special Olympics Winter Games, the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, the Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities, and he was a co-founder and Director of the South Nepean Youth Organization. In addition, Pete has been a mentor for the Ontario Government’s Summer Company program, Junior Achievement Titan Business program, member of the judging panel for the University of Ottawa's Business Plan Challenge, and a volunteer for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation's Run for the Cure, Ottawa Heart Institute Telethon, Newport Restaurant Christmas dinner to name a few. He joined the Board of KDH in 2009. |

Mr. Donovan Arnaud |
 |
Donovan Arnaud is currently serving as Acting Director of the Continuity of Government Division with Public Safety Canada. His career includes over twenty five years of service with the Canadian Forces as a Senior Naval Officer, four years as a Senior Ministerial Official with the Ministers of National Defence and Supply Services Canada, the private sector as a business development consultant and seven years with the Federal Government. His military background includes service as Project Director of two Major Crown Projects, Command of various minor war vessels, training bases and facilities, foreign postings and assignments, and numerous operational and staff positions throughout Canada. Mr. Arnaud’s past business experiences in
clude numerous projects and initiatives with the federal government, provincial governments and various private sector firms both domestic and international. A native of Montreal, Donovan Arnaud was educated at Sir George Williams University, Montreal, Quebec and the National Defence College, Kingston, Ontario. He and his wife Jennifer live in Burritt's Rapids and are both members of the Kemptville Rotary Club. |

Ms. Lis Angus |
 |
Lis Angus grew up on a farm near Rimbey, Alberta, but has lived in Ontario since 1965. Lis has a BA from Carleton University, and an MA and MBA from York University. She met her husband, Ian, at Carleton, and they were married at his family home in Kemptville in 1969. Lis’ began her career working with disturbed children and adolescents (at the Royal Ottawa Hospital and at Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital in Toronto). Later, following further studies, Lis and Ian launched Angus TeleManagement Group, a telecommunications consulting and publishing firm, which they operated in Toronto for twenty-six years, meanwhile raising two daughters. They moved back to Kemptville fulltime in 2002 when their youngest left for university, and are now retired. Lis joined the KDH Board in 2006 for a two-year term as the Auxiliary’s President, and was elected as a regular Board member in June 2008. |

Mr. John Sims |
 |
John has enjoyed a number of careers: air force fighter pilot, commercial pilot and flying instructor, television writer, film producer and foreign service officer. In his latter capacity, he, his wife (Marianne – ‘Marnie’) and their four children lived some years in Sri Lanka, Australia, the U.S.A., Guyana, Iraq and Iran. John has an Executive M.B.A. (Simon Fraser U.) and is a graduate of the National Defence College of Canada. He hopes his position on the Board of the Kemptville District Hospital will be his most productive assignment to date. |

Dr. Claude Naud, EdD |
 |
Dr. Naud brings to the Board a varied and extensive background as a former senior executive in the field of educational and academic leadership, change management, organizational, and professional development. He has served on several national, provincial, and local organizations including the Saskatchewan Health Resource Council and Academic Health Sciences Network.
Claude is the president New Summit Consulting, a small firm specializing in strategic planning, organizational renewal, and program development. As new comers to Kemptville, both Claude and Kathy are enjoying the area and looking forward to devote their time and energy in support of the district hospital. Dr. Naud joined the Board in January 2009. |
